"As many of you might know, recently a member of our community and my close friend was violated by another student who placed the N-Word on her door. Hate has also been spread in the form of swastikas across campus. As a human being, student, and member of the multicultural community I was completely outraged and disgusted… As a community it is important that we say no to racism.
On a daily basis, our media covers the latest attacks and American losses in Iraq. Most members of Congress demand troop withdrawals, echoing the wishes of a sizeable American majority in all recent opinion polls- and more visibly in big anti-war protests like the one held near our campus last months.
When you fail-try, try again. Such has been the mantra of the Student Association in their three year-long effort to raise the student fee, and it has finally worked. A fee increase proposal passed via a student referendum early in February by a large margin.
